Curtis Dixon Assumes DVCC Presidency
The Annual General Meeting of the Diamond Valley Chamber of Commerce was held on February 7, 2018. Local businessman Curtis Dixon was elected to the post of DVCC President after former President, Kathleen Henderson, had to withdraw due to a family health crisis. Mr. Dixon is the owner/operator of the Country Store Diner in Turner Valley. He is looking forward to leading the DVCC executive team in moving forward with the implementation of the revised DVCC strategic plan.
This plan and the reworked DVCC mission statement underwent redevelopment and refocusing last November at an executive workshop session guided by Ursula Sherwood, business analyst with our partner organization – Community Futures, Highwood. Curtis is excited to be getting down to the brass tacks of executing the plan by devising new initiatives and collaborations with other community groups on projects that promote our area.
High on the agenda will be organizing projects and partnerships that aim to increase engagement between the communities in the DVCC district and local business operators. Attention will focus on strengthening Chamber membership, and by extension, building stronger, more influential relationships and connections aimed squarely at supporting local prosperity.
